Chittori is the historic ancestral graveyard of the Talpur Mirs of Mirpur Khas, Sindh. The sandstone tombs built by Talpur rulers over the graves of their elders are the finest examples of Sindh's architecture prevalent in 17th and 18th century. The graveyard is located about 22 km northeast of Mirpur Khas town on Mirpur Khas-Khipro road. Chittori graveyard is spread over 35 acres of land. The graves have geometrical designs, and the tombs and mehrabs show Islamic architecture. However, the cutting of stone and balancing of slabs represents the Rajasthan architecture. The floods of 2010 and heavy rainfall have affected the graveyard. Mir Masu Talpur was the first Talpur Mir to be buried here. Mir Fateh Talpur, who played a vital role in sustaining Sindh, and Tharo Khan Talpur are also buried in Chittori. Other graves include prominent Mirs and martyrs of Dubaa Battle. -- Subscribe Rehan Allahwala on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/rehanall...
